Singpore datacenter is online and serving production OpenDNS traffic.
It is the 12th OpenDNS datacenter globally and the first in Asia.
OpenDNS uses Anycast routing to run its network. It means that that wherever you are in the world, your DNS requests route through the closest datacenter.
The new Data Center in Singapore is aimed at users in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, India and throughout Asia. OpenDNS plans to open new datacenter in Frankfurt, Germany in early 2011. You can check OpenDNS global system status on OpenDNS Systems page.
If you are in Asia – send a traceroute from your computer to 188.8.131.52 to check the new OpenDNS Data Center in Singapore.
